"There is nothing better than a friend, unless it's a friend with chocolate." ~author unknown
Even though they don't always get to see each other in person, Jade always
finds a way to let Mahali know she is thinking of her. Recently, during
the COVID quarantine, Jade dropped off a big basket full of Mahali's
favorite snacks. Whether they are talking on the phone or sharing
a meal together, this match always finds a way to bring joy to one
Mahali's guardian is a huge fan of the match. Mahali had a lot of
trauma in her background when she entered our program 3 years
ago. Her guardian says, "I'm so glad Jade was matched with Mahali."
She says Mahali's "amazing" relationship with her Big Sister has shown
her the "light at the end of the tunnel."
This fall, Mahali will start her senior year of high school. And, this wonderful match will be celebrating their 3 year match anniversary. Congratulations, Mahali and Jade!

Jacklynn came into the program in Kindergarten and was being raised
by her single Dad. When she enrolled, she was very shy and quiet.
The goals set for her were to help her build her social and listening
skills. Being so shy, Jacklynn also had a hard time developing
Then along came Donna, a busy and adventurous 70 year old
who is very involved in her community. She is always willing
to help in her church and community. She has exposed Jacklynn
to a world of new opportunities to get to know people and try
new things. Donna is very proud to speak of the young woman
that her Little is turning into. She is proud that she is now more
outspoken and not afraid to speak her mind. She can even say that
her Little has good morals and self-respect for her age. Donna has
enjoyed watching Jacklynn blossom into a "Beautiful Young Lady".
