BOB AND DAMON RETURN TO MAIN STORIES PAGE
Yesterday afternoon while fishing with my Little, Damon,
I was speared in my left thumb by a cat fish whisker as
I was removing the fish from the young angler's hook.
The pain was excruciating....a lesser man might have
fainted from it. My thumb proceeded to bleed profusely
and swell from the poison and eventually reached the
size of a watermelon but we fished on.
Later, as we were fixing to leave the pond and go home young Damon caught
a beastly looking creature called a crawdad. We (he) decided to take it home
so he could flaunt his catch to anyone brave enough to look. Well, when I
reached into the bucket to retrieve the beast to show his sister and intrigued
friends it grabbed a hold of my right thumb with both pinchers and held on for
dear life. At this point the 6-8 young rug rats gathered around
screaming and squealing at the top of their lungs at the poor crawdad, which
made it pinch even harder. Damon asked me to quit horsing around and
to stop hurting his monster. I guess it was at this
point when a little 4-year-old from the day care
noticed the tears in my eyes and blood gushing
from what was left of my right thumb and
asked me if that hurt. A lesser man maybe.....not me! |
