EDDY COUNTY PROGRAMS
Located in downtown Artesia at 422 W. Main St., Suite 2, the Eddy County Office opened its doors in the Spring of 2007. This branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters serves children in Artesia and Carlsbad.
The Lunch Buddies program is open to students K-12, or ages 5-17, in the Artesia School District. Students being mentored will be paired with either a student Big from Artesia High School, or an adult Big who will meet with them once a week on their lunch break. High School Students in the National Honor Society can obtain service points for signing up for this program. Perfect for High School students and busy adults, this program allows you to change a life on your lunch break.
Volunteers age 18 and older are matched with youth ages 5-17. These matches meet a minimum of 4 hours each month. This program is highly flexible and allows for endless possibilities for Bigs to connect with their Littles. Matches get to know each other by having fun doing activities out in the community. Some matches meet on the weekends, while others get together on weekday afternoons or evenings. Each match is unique and develops a schedule that works for them.
