Lincoln County December Newsletter
Big Brothers Big Sisters has been serving Lincoln County since 1995. It currently supports matches in both Community and School-Based Programs. We have Site-Based relationships with the Carrizozo School District, Capitan School District, Hondo School District, and the Mescalero Boys & Girls Club. We have hopes of expanding or School-Based programs further into the county by next school year.
 Our Community-Based matches enjoy monthly events put on by BBBS staff that has incuded, a kite-flying workshop, building bird houses, trips to Fort Lone Tree adventure camp, sporting events, an annual Day of Play, and lots more. These activities give our Bigs and Littles a chance to spend time together doing something fun, and also give them a chance to socialize with other Bigs and Littles in the area.
Being a friend to a child, for as little as 4 hours a month, has shown to make a difference in children's self-confidence, family relationships and also an improvement in grades. It doesn't take a hero to be a Big, just someone who's positive who wants to create a friendship with a Little. Lincoln County has Littles waiting for a Big, maybe that Big is you...
