Big Brothers Big Sisters has been in Chaves County serving its' children and volunteers since September of 2001. Roswell is the home of our Corporate Office, where Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern New Mexico is headquartered. We pride ourselves in serving eight counties where our goal for 2012 is to serve 400 children from Mescalero to Clovis, and from Artesia to Hobbs.

We have partnerships with Dexter Elementary and Dexter High School, as well as NMMI and Military Heights where a high school student mentors an elementary student at least one hour a week through the School-Based program. Whether they play board games, read a magazine together, or work on homework, their relationship promotes a positive school experience for the child: good attendance, positive peer and adult relationships, a positive attitude, and acedemic enrichment.

The BBBS staff in Roswell provide fun activities for its' Community-Based matches on a monthly basis, whether it's a pool party, BBQs, holiday crafts, or sporting events- there is always something for Bigs and Littles to look forward to doing together.

Chaves County also encourages the community to be involved with their Bowl For Kids Sake yearly fundraiser. It's a great way to have some fun while raising money for such a special program. Especially during these hard economic times, Big Brothers Big Sisters needs all the financial help we can get. The need for funds is just as important as our need for volunteers.
